Is 365 Sports Program for international sports competitions real?Spo

My daughter, Kelly, is in 10th grade at Oil City High School and played JV basketball this year.

Near the end of her season, we received a letter from 365 Sports inviting her to be in a summer program in 2009 and then take a trip to Switzerland or one other place this summer to compete internationally.

I don't know anything about this organization, and I have no idea how they expect to take girls that don't even know each other, have never played together, and have varying skill levels and compete with them internationally.

I sent them an email asking for the program costs and so forth, and they just send you back the hope that you attend the local meeting (which is about an hour and a half away) and find out all the particulars.

They never did say what this program will cost, but mentioned in their email that they would give fundraising tips and so forth. That doesn't sound very good.

She and three other girls received the letter. Has anyone ever heard of this organization? How does this work?  I am interested in furthering my daughter's basketball career, but I don't want to be involved in some scam.

I got it for volleyball this year, it cost 3,599 dollars, i dont think its a scam, i know many kids at my school got this, but i think they send out as many as they do because they know many kids will not be attending it. 10 seems young to be traveling across the world for sports with out a parent.

i just got one now, and that does look suspixious. i'm trying to figure the same thing. I'm trying to find background information. Me and my mom might go to the meeting, i dont think its a scam so much because i got invited to go play volleyball in hawii and it cost money to just rsvp. but im still looking for any special information as well.

I got one for wrestling just a few weeks ago, offering to travel to Australia or Sweden. I just thought it was odd because I'm a first year wrestler with 11-16 being my win-loss count this season. I'm trying to look into it, it looks pretty legit but I'm still unsure about it.

The Program.

This program is legit, there have been NBA basketball players that went through it (steve Nash, for instance), and collegiate and even a professional coach or two help out with the coaching for it. Its a great program.

This year for the SAwitzerland program, Shannno Brown from the L.A. Lakers will be traveling with us.
