Ever notice that your horse exhibits behaviors that were unusual (or maybe you didn't think they were unusual) that made him look like he was either in pain somewhere, or maybe he looks just plain grumpy. Does your horse resist being saddled, does he pin his ears when you rub your hands along his back or try to step away? Does he carry his head crooked? Maybe he doesn't want to bring his hind end under himself when he works any more. Tires are an important part of your car. Think about it. They are what come in contact with the road while you drive...I know, that is obvious you say. Well, that may be, but have you really taken the time to make sure that your tires are safe? What happens if the tread is not sufficient and you are driving on wet roadways? I am the proud owner of three Quarter Horse geldings, all five years old....oh my gosh SIX now. I can't believe a whole year has gone by quicker than a blink.
As I am sure everyone with horses can relate to, there is not enough hours in the day to spend as much quality time as I would like with my horses. We compete in barrel racing, go on trail rides, run poles, and just ride for fun. This is the most relaxing time in my life. Horses don't require a lot of conversation, they don't argue, well, you get the picture. The picture above is of my daughter Alex and Poncho just before we left the barn for the day. He thinks there may something in it for him if he gives her a kiss!

My cat, dubbed "Tuna" by my daughter Kelly, is in love with my lap blanket I bought at Wal Mart. The blanket is a velveteen on one side and the other side is some kind of sherpa fleece or something.
Anyway, as soon as the cat gets on the blanket, she thinks she is nursing the mommy cat, because she moves her paws like she would if she were a small kitten drinking milk. She shakes her head from side to side and snuggles into the fleece and tries to drink the milk (which doesn't exist) from the mouthful of blanket she has in her mouth! It is really funny to watch her! Does anyone else have a cat who does this or do you have any idea why she does it?

No matter how hard I try, I just can't find the right balance of organization for my scrapbook supplies. I have small bins, I have storage envelopes, I have a literatur organizer for the paper, you name it, I have it. Yet, I still have piles of stuff laying all over my crafting table that I use over and over. I just can't seem to organize the top of my desk so that when people walk in the room, they see a nice work area. I have punches, and the resulting little punches of paper (whatever you call those things that are created when you punch paper with a die) everywhere, along with brads, scraps of paper, ribbon, calligraphy markers....you get the picture. What is a crafter to do?

I recently designed my own home office and picked out the color scheme for it myself. I read so many articles about what color to use for the walls, and every other source of ideas. I decided that I would paint the walls the color that I absolutely move more than any color in the world. There is no article out there that encourages you to paint your walls a shade of blue that borders on purple! Yet, that is the color I chose. I feel so peaceful when I am in my little office and every time I look at the walls, I smile. That is the guideline that everyone asking what color to paint their walls should adhere to. Paint what you love!

I don't know about the rest of you women out there, but I am totally sick of being treated like I am retarded when it comes to service on my car. I recently took my car to a service station to have the oil changed, fluids filled and that's IT! Well, lo an behold, I am sitting in the waiting area and the employee comes out and goes over a laundry list of items that they recommended I have taken care of. Now I know there are a lot of women that don't really know squat about cars, but come on guys, that doesn't pertain to all of us. They highly recommended that I have my air filter changed because it would improve the gas mileage. Well that would have been just fine and dandy, but that air filter had been replaced just two WEEKS ago!! They just thought since I was a girl, I wouldn't know any better. I only took my car there for an oil change because it is just too cold and crappy outside to lay under my car myself. Come on guys, girls aren't stupid!

Are you tired of looking at your horse's dirty winter coat? Can't wait to give him a bath? Even though it is winter, there are still solutions that you can use to get rid of those dirty spots. For overall bathing without a traditional bath, you can use a spray bottle filled with regular rubbing alcohol. Use a hot damp towel to rough up your horse's coat (go against the grain). The hair will be slightly damp. You then can spray the alcohol on the coat and let dry for a couple of minutes.
